My story
Hello, I'm Alicia.
My journey has always been marked by curiosity, reflection, and a desire to deeply understand both music and human behavior, psychology, and emotions. From a very young age, I understood that the piano would not only be an instrument, but also a tool for thinking, expressing oneself, and building identity.
My training began within the European classical tradition. I studied at the Vigo Conservatory, where I received the End-of-Degree Prize and a special mention in the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams two years in a row. During that time, I participated in chamber music projects and competitions, and performed as a soloist with orchestras. Those were years of rigorous study, discipline, and technical consolidation.
Over time, I felt the need to broaden my horizons. I moved to the Netherlands, where I lived, studied, and worked for seven and a half years. There, I completed a Bachelor's degree in Piano at Codarts Rotterdam, in an international and multicultural environment that profoundly enriched my artistic and human perspective. Subsequently, I completed a Master's degree in Tango Performance and Research, focusing on creating arrangements of traditional Galician songs adapted to different tango styles.
This process marked a turning point: creation, improvisation, and arrangement began to occupy a central place in my work. In this context, I co-created, along with three other women, the tango opera Her Soliloquy: a tango opera by the women of today, a project that won awards at the GrachtenFestival Pitch Concours in Amsterdam and the Audience Prize in Rotterdam.
In 2023, I was selected as a Fulbright scholar to study in Los Angeles at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. This experience decisively broadened my artistic and professional vision, incorporating music production, marketing, and contemporary musical languages into my training. It also strengthened my autonomy, my judgment, and my creative freedom. After this period, I returned to Vigo with the conscious intention of integrating everything I had learned abroad and consolidating an open, international, and constantly evolving artistic identity. I continued to expand my jazz training at the Pontevedra Permanent Seminar with Abe Rábade, delving deeper into harmony, rhythm, and improvisation.
Currently, I am developing my own artistic and pedagogical project. I perform, compose, and teach music—primarily piano—accompanying artists, musicians, and individuals interested in in-depth, personalized learning, both in person and online. I lead a choral workshop focused on diverse repertoires and collaborate with artists from various countries.
In addition to individual teaching and stage creation, I design and lead workshops for educational centers, conservatories, and cultural institutions, as well as training programs for companies focused on developing listening skills, creativity, emotional intelligence, and teamwork through music.
At the same time, I am developing my personal project as a pianist, composer, and vocalist. In my work, I integrate piano with voice, combining influences from classical music, tango, jazz, and contemporary musical languages. My artistic practice seeks a balance between structure and freedom, between tradition and exploration, building a unique repertoire that engages with diverse cultures and sensibilities. This project materializes in concerts, collaborations, and constantly evolving new creations.
I conceive of music as a balance between logic and emotion, as a language capable of expressing what words cannot. I work with rigor and respect, combining technical depth with human sensitivity. I firmly believe in the role of art, education, and self-knowledge as real tools for personal and collective transformation.
